 | Bell Pitches Mud Hens to Shutout Win Tuesday, June 21st, 2033 The Worcester Ruby Legs were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to the Toledo Mud Hens and hurler Dave Bell. Bell kept the Ruby Legs confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Bell," Worcester manager David Bell said in his postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 24-year-old right-hander had no walks and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Bell said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." Checking out his stats for the season, Bell has notched 3 wins and 5 losses in 13 starts, 2.16 ERA and struck out 102 batters in 79 innings. |   |
