 | Velásquez Collects SL1 Pitching Award Monday, August 1st, 2033 "The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we might have to start inviting him out with us after the games." Ward Velásquez put together a very solid month to take home the Sub League 1's top pitching honor in July. The 23-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In no relief appearances he raked in no saves and 32 strikeouts in 37.2 innings as he put together his 5-0 record and 0.96 ERA. For the season Velásquez has no saves, tossed 140.1 innings, fanned 131 batters and produced an ERA of 3.72. He has also been credited with 12 wins and 8 losses. |   |
