Such is the case with Jesús Santana, a 23-year-old starter for the Mar Vista Gulls. In August, he topped off the month with a 3-0 mark and 1.27 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 28.1 innings, fanned 21 and held opposing teams to a .200 average.
