 | 5-for-5 Game for Gómez Tuesday, June 27th, 2034 It was a sensational day at the plate for Altadena Assassins right fielder Jorge Gómez, but a tough one for the team, as the Assassins dropped the contest 8-7 to the Thunder Bay Lightning. Even with the loss, Gómez was pure misery for the Thunder Bay pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Gómez, who is the former first round draft pick . "Gómez really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Lightning manager Bob Hartman told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Jorge Gómez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. For the year Gómez is batting .353 with 116 hits and 1 home run.
