Duarte Gauchos Ace Named SL1 Outstanding Hitter Award

Not only has Blaine Stanley been named winner of the 2034 Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in NFBL Single A.

"I feel fortunate to win this award at age 23," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times."

The Duarte Gauchos ace had a 12-3 record over 25 starts and 140 innings. He struck out 176, issued 46 walks and had an impressive 1.41 ERA.

Batters hit only .179 against him during the season.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 12. Fernando Tapia of the Orlando Samurai finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Marcos Hernández of the Orlando Samurai finished third.
