 | Baton Rouge's Romero Stands out in Shutout Saturday, June 17th, 2034 "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Roberto Romero of the Baton Rouge Blackened Voodoo proved the point at Ballpark of Baton Rouge today, holding the London Jesters to 6 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Romero made us look real bad today," Jesters manager Yoshihide Asai said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Romero had 8 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Blackened Voodoo took the 7-0 win.
Romero's record this year is 4-and-1 with no saves and a 3.72 ERA. He has given up 65 hits in 58 innings with 62 strikeouts. | |
