The 25-year-old right-hander held the Niigata Cardinals to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 5 and gave up 3 hits in the 6-0 shutout. "Shimei really got it done out there today," said Sendai manager Adriano Rosario. Up to now Tanaka has recorded a record of 17-5.
