Yoshida Matsumoto of the Okazaki Tornado said he never set out to win the Sub League 2 Reliever of the Year Award this season, but he'll certainly take it.

"2034 was a pretty good year for me, that much is obvious," he said. "This is icing on the cake."

The 33-year-old out of Shimosuwa, Japan fashioned a 1.42 ERA this season over 82.1 innings of work. He made 78 relief appearances and had 43 saves, 85 strikeouts, 15 walks and a record of 3 wins and 5 losses.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Kunimatsu Yamamoto of the Sendai Hopes finished second in voting, while Sumitomo Abe of the Ageo Revolt finished third.
