This year the top vote-getter for the 2034 Outstanding Pitcher Award was Shimei Tanaka of the Sendai Hopes, who finished with an outstanding 22-5 mark and an impressive 1.73 ERA.

In his award-winning season, the 25-year-old Hopes star hurled 218.2 innings, chalking up 230 strikeouts and 63 walks, and limited hitters to a .191 batting average.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Kensaku Taketo of the Sendai Hopes finished second in voting, while Nobukazu Rin of the Ageo Revolt finished third.
