Premier Rookie Named by RL Saturday, September 1st, 2029 When you think of rookies, you think of men in their early to mid-20's. Despite the fact that Okitsugu Ito is 37, he made a big splash by putting up solid numbers to win Robinson League Rookie of the Month honors. He told BNN reporters at the press conference, "I'm thrilled beyond words. All I can say is... better late than never." In August, the Seattle left fielder hit .405 while rapping out 30 hits, 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. Ito has a .345 average and a .411 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 137 hits, 27 home runs and driven in 95 runs. |
