GL's Top Rookie Announced Tuesday, November 1st, 2033 2033 was a much better year than Barrett Montgomery expected. This spring he was overjoyed at just making the Houston roster. Not only did he make the team, he was the starting first baseman. Then it got even better.
In his debut season, Montgomery hit .340 with 206 hits in 605 at-bats, 21 home runs, 97 RBIs, 35 bases on balls and a .380 on-base percentage -- good enough numbers to be honored with the Gehrig League Rookie of the Year Award.
