| Sánchez Dazzles in Houston Win | In a tight game between the Houston Bayou Rats and the Brooklyn Superbas, pitcher Octávio Sánchez was terrific on the mound. The Houston right-hander was named the player of the game in Houston's 2-1 win. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Bayou Rats hope to make a postseason run.
Sánchez, the winner, is now 1-1. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits, while collecting 13 Ks. He essentially shut down the Brooklyn offense.
