| Ackerman goes 4-for-5 to Power Pilots Offense | Brett Ackerman added some punch to the Seattle offense, helping them outmuscle the Chicago Whales, 11-7. In the game, Ackerman, who is tied for 9th in the RL in hits with 31, was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Seattle reliever Belchyor Cabecinha was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Brad Jenkins took the loss for Chicago. The Whales fall to 13-18 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
In the bottom of the 6th, second baseman Ward Wallace gave Seattle the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Pilots had been trailing 7-6, but the two-out single off Chicago pitcher Brad Jenkins changed that -- and Seattle went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ackerman after the game.
