| Whales Walk Off with 4-2 Win | Chicago Whales starter Gerald Bond was in fine form against the Seattle Pilots at Wrigley Field, leading his team to a 4-2 win. With the win, the Whales improved to 17-24.
Chicago won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Gerardo Valenzuela on the mound for Seattle, pinch hitter Carlos Jareño hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Whales fans to their feet.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Seattle manager Dane Sardinha.
