| Superbas Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Stars | The Superbas grabbed a win, 4-3, at Manse Park, overcoming a fine effort from Hollywood pitcher Bob Cotton. Cotton went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Superbas bumped their record to 29-28 with this latest triumph.
The Superbas were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Sergio Pacheco turned a 1-2 sinker from Steve Cahill into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Brooklyn a thrilling 4-3 win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pacheco. "And not try to do too much."
