| Quakers Deal Redbirds Painful Loss | Despite a fine performance by left fielder Feng Liao, the Rochester Redbirds suffered a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Quakers. Liao belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Alfredo Ordóńez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Steve Hargrove was tagged with the loss. Philadelphia is now 38-29, Rochester 40-25.
Sergio Portillo, who is tied for 3rd in the GL with a .449 on-base percentage, chipped in for Philadelphia with a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
