| Hollywood Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2 | Despite a great performance by Cleveland third baseman Pedro Peña, the Hollywood Stars defeated the Spiders by the score of 6-5 at Gilmore Field today. Peña was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 4 RBI to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Stars from moving one game closer to the Round 3. Hollywood now leads the Federal Series 2-1.
José Rodríguez aided the Hollywood cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the second. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 1 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
"I like the roll we're on," said Hollywood manager Drees van Straaten.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Gilmore Field in Los Angeles. Slated to start are Claude Mosley for the Cleveland Spiders and Mike Henderson for the the Hollywood Stars.
