| Spiders Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0 | With starter Carlos Castro leading the charge, the Cleveland Spiders defeated the Houston Bayou Rats, 4-3, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball at Sockalexis Stadium to help Cleveland take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
With one out in the bottom of the third, Norishige Mizutani barreled up a fastball from Emílio Guerra. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Spiders in front, 2-1.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Castro.
The next game is scheduled for Friday at The Rats' Nest in Houston. The scheduled starters for the game are Brian Ewing for the Cleveland Spiders and José Ontiveros for the the Houston Bayou Rats.
