| Spiders Hammered by Bennett, Drop Game 3 to Bayou Rats | The Houston Bayou Rats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Cleveland Spiders, winning 6-5 at The Rats' Nest today. Bayou Rats catcher Warren Bennett was named player of the game after he went 1 for 2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bayou Rats to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Bennett had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fourth for the Bayou Rats. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Houston trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run home run.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bennett.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are José Sánchez for Cleveland and Tomás Suárez for Houston.
