| Almost There: Cleveland On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 8-4 Win | Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Jeremy Beasley, the Cleveland Spiders got a road win against the Houston Bayou Rats, 8-4, in Game 4 of the League Championship Series today. Beasley hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Spiders, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Pedro Peña aided the Cleveland cause with a 2-run strikeout in the top of the third. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"This was a good win for us," said Peña. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at The Rats' Nest in Houston. The scheduled starters for the game are Ty Home for the Cleveland Spiders and Octávio Sánchez for the the Houston Bayou Rats.
