| Perfectos Raise Rally Flag, Beat Philadelphia, 4-3 | The St. Louis Perfectos topped the Philadelphia Quakers, 4-3, in Robinson League action at Juliet Gunn Field. The player of the game was St. Louis pitcher and North Atlanta, Georgia native Lou Murray. The winning pitcher was Murray, now 6-6. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Pat Colwill, credited with the save, is now 20 for 22 in save opportunities.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Ric Snow was at the plate when St. Louis scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Perfectos to go in front, 4-3.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Snow told reporters after the game.
St. Louis is now 35-39. Philadelphia is 40-33.
