| Spiders Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Spiders grabbed a win, 3-2, at Sockalexis Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Woody Adams. Adams went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Will Taylor in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Eric Mathis took the loss. Cleveland is 43-32 and Chicago, with the loss, 31-45.
The Spiders got a big at-bat from first baseman Chris Love. For the game, Love was 1-5 with a hit by pitch. In the bottom of the 12th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 104th hit of the season gave Cleveland a 3-2 lead.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Jim Bauch.
