| Pilots Rally For Late Win Over Redbirds | The Seattle Pilots beat the Rochester Redbirds, 4-3 at Rochester Stadium, in part due to first baseman Shane McDaniel, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 1 for 1 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Seattle has now won 3 in a row.
Had Baxter Walker not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Walker hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Pilots.
Walker told a Seattle News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
