| Bayou Rats Win at Cleveland, 7-1 | The Houston Bayou Rats topped the Cleveland Spiders, 7-1, in Gehrig League action at Sockalexis Stadium. The player of the game was Houston pitcher and Cojutepeque, El Salvador native Octávio Sánchez. Sánchez went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 12-4. The Bayou Rats bumped their record to 43-41 with this latest triumph.
The Bayou Rats got a big at-bat from third baseman Diego Reyes. For the game, Reyes went 3-5 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Houston manager Paul Lupi.
