Bayou Rats Lose to Oaks, 13-5

The Houston Bayou Rats got a sterling performance from shortstop Geoffrey Maddaford, but the Oaks still prevailed, 13-5. Maddaford was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Oakland reliever Roberto González picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Brian Boggs was saddled with the loss. The Oaks saw their record improve to 43-46.

The Oaks got a big at-bat from third baseman Jesse Taylor. For the game, Taylor went 1 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Oakland a 9-5 lead.
