| Spiders Come Back Late to Top Whales | Chris Love made an impact in the 6-3 Cleveland win over Chicago. Love, who is on pace for 138 RBI this season, was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Clinton Johnson converted his 5th save in 7 tries. The last-place Whales have lost 7 straight games.
Love had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Brad Jenkins, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Spiders a 4-3 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Love.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Love said after the game.
