| Spiders Top Pilots in Extras | The Cleveland Spiders downed the Seattle Pilots, 9-6, at Koufax Park. José Rosas led the way, going 3-for-5 for Cleveland. Cleveland reliever Clinton Johnson picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Stanley Brown shouldered the loss. The Spiders bumped their record to 54-42 with this latest triumph.
Caleb Hinton, who is tied for 8th in the GL in triples with 3, aided the Cleveland cause with a 2-run single in the top of the tenth. For the game, the second baseman went 2-6 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
