| Spiders Win in Extras | People near Sockalexis Stadium no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
Cleveland beat Seattle at Sockalexis Stadium, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder José Rosas, who earned player of the game honors. The Spiders bumped their record to 57-45 with this latest triumph.
The Spiders got a big at-bat from third baseman Pedro Peña. For the game, Peña went 2-6 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 77th hit of the season gave Cleveland a 5-4 lead.
"We saved our best for last," said Rosas.
