| Pilots Subdue Oakland, 5-3 | The Seattle Pilots topped the Oakland Oaks, 5-3, in Robinson League action at Koufax Park. The player of the game was Seattle pitcher Ben Hernández. Seattle reliever Kyoichi Kawasaki picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. John Williams was saddled with the loss. The Pilots raised their record to 53-57.
The Pilots got a big at-bat from left fielder Tsuyoshi Yoshida. For the game, Yoshida was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Seattle a 4-2 lead.
