| Stars Throttle Superbas, 5-1 | Ángel Deleón never let the Superbas get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Stars to a 5-1 win. The winning pitcher was Deleón, now 4-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Hollywood is now 52-58, Brooklyn 47-65.
The Stars got a big at-bat from right fielder Leon O'Donnell. For the game, O'Donnell went 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 89th hit of the season gave Hollywood a 2-1 lead.
