Alexander Stars for Bayou Rats in 12-9 Win

The Houston Bayou Rats relied on the hitting of right fielder Mark Alexander to stop the Rochester Redbirds, 12-9. For the game, Alexander went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The win was Chet Waller's in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Andrés Morales took the loss for Rochester. Alfredo Ángel earned his 12th save in 14 chances.

Had John Hucknall not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hucknall hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 11-8, in favor of the Bayou Rats.
