| Whales Suffer 13-2 Drubbing | With first baseman Chris Love leading the charge, the Cleveland Spiders defeated the Chicago Whales, 13-2, at Sockalexis Stadium. Love, who is tied for 4th in the GL in home runs with 32, was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs. Claude Mosley, credited with the win, is now 6-7. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. Bo Baker earned his 2nd save in 6 chances.
Caleb Hinton swatted a 2-run double for Cleveland in the bottom of the first. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 5.
"It was a solid team effort," said Hinton after the game.
