| Bayou Rats Bang Out 9-3 Win Versus Philadelphia | The Philadelphia Quakers and Houston Bayou Rats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Myers Field.
The Houston Bayou Rats downed the Philadelphia Quakers, 9-3, at Myers Field. The Bayou Rats were led by Mark Alexander, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Reliever Henry Robinson picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Robert Rogers took the loss.
John Hucknall, who is a five-time Gold Glove Award winner, aided the Houston cause with a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 5. He drove in 2 runs.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Alexander.
The Bayou Rats bumped their record to 62-57 with this latest triumph.
