| Ríos Slugs Oaks to 9-1 Win | The Oakland Oaks relied on the hitting of third baseman Luis Ríos to stop the Seattle Pilots, 9-1. For the game, Ríos went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The 4th-place Oaks improved to 59-62.
With Oakland leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Ríos hit a circle change from José Medina for a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Oaks ahead, 5-0.
