Redbirds Take Tight Tilt

Rochester turned a good effort from starter Matt Shaw into a win over the Chicago Whales at Wrigley Field. The final score was 2-1. The first-place Redbirds, at 69-54, now lead their division by 6½ games.

Feng Liao, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2022, aided the Rochester cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4 with a double.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Shaw told the Rochester Herald.
