| Whales Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Redbirds | Patrick Warren helped his team muscle past the Rochester Redbirds, 8-4. In the game, the Chicago right fielder went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brad Jenkins got credit for the win, improving to 4-11. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The Whales saw their record improve to 52-75.
Mark Merrit aided the Chicago cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
