| Ratchford goes 3-for-5, Leads Bayou Rats to Win | The Houston Bayou Rats beat the Brooklyn Superbas, 8-3, at The Rats' Nest. Houston first baseman Tim Ratchford earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. José Ontiveros earned the win to go to 4-9. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Bayou Rats bumped their record to 67-61 with this latest triumph.
Barrett Montgomery, who is tied for 10th in the GL in triples with 3, aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
