House got the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed 2 hits and walked 4 over 7.1 innings. House allowed 1 earned run. Oakland is now 64-68, Chicago 55-77.
Mark Davis went 1-4 for Oakland. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Bob Dale. It was his 44th RBI of the season.
"I thought we played a nice game," Davis told the Oakland Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
