| Quintanilla, Brooklyn Prevail in Pitchers' Duel | The Brooklyn Superbas scored a 1-0 win versus the Boston Beaneaters at South End Grounds. Brooklyn pitcher Lorenzo Quintanilla nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Dan Westberry was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 33 of 38 save opportunities. Brooklyn currently is in last place in the Division 1 at 61-77.
Quintanilla, a native of San Luis, Cuba, was dealing all game. He kept Boston hitters off-balance, while giving the Superbas 7 quality innings. Quintanilla threw 98 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 9.
