| Spiders Take Tight Tilt | The Brooklyn Superbas got a superb performance from pitcher Lorenzo Quintanilla. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Cleveland. The Spiders won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Quintanilla was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Cleveland leads the Division 1 by 5½ games.
Pedro Peña aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances.
Peña told a Cleveland Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
