The Oakland Oaks got a good effort from starter Reese House in defeating the Chicago Whales at Monster Park. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was House, now 8-6. He tossed 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Oakland manager Kenny Lafreničre.

With the win, the Oaks improved to 71-72.
