Adams Sensational for Whales

Both teams had their chances, but the Chicago Whales eventually prevailed at Rochester Stadium.

Woody Adams never let Rochester get something going. The Chicago left-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Whales to a 1-0 win. Eric Mathis earned his 12th save in 15 chances.
