| Yi Slugs Superbas to 4-2 Win | The Brooklyn Superbas defeated the Boston Beaneaters, 4-2, at South End Grounds today. Leading the charge for Brooklyn was left fielder Sun Yi. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Dan Westberry got the save, his 36th in 42 chances. The 5th-place Superbas have won 4 in a row.
Yi had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch curveball from Carl Hall, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Superbas a 4-1 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Yi.
"I really like what we did out there today," Yi said after the game.
