| Whales Win at Oakland, 3-1 | The Chicago Whales topped the Oakland Oaks, 3-1, in Robinson League action at Monster Park. The player of the game was Chicago pitcher and Apatzingan, Mexico native Juan Ramírez. Nobukazu Nakamura earned the save, his 2nd. The Whales are off to a tough start, getting just their 7th win in 18 games.
Mitsunari Okada went 2 for 3 with 2 singles for Chicago. The four-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Adrian Dunn. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
