| Quakers Jolt Beaneaters with Late Rally | The Philadelphia Quakers racked up a win at South End Grounds, bumping off the Boston Beaneaters, 5-3. Carlos Gonzáles, who started for Philadelphia, pitched effectively for his team. Philadelphia reliever Chris Ratzlaff picked up the win to move to 1-0. Miguel Gonzáles suffered the loss. Jesse Boone earned his 38th save in 50 chances.
Felipe Planellas made it 4-2 in favor of Philadelphia when he delivered a 2-run double. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Quakers went on to win.
Planellas called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Quakers bumped their record to 89-73 with this latest triumph.
