 | Spiders Win 2034 Federal Series Saturday, October 21st, 2034 A celebratory mood filled the air as the Cleveland Spiders closed out the season with a 4-3 victory over the Hollywood Stars at Sockalexis Stadium to capture the Federal Series, 4-3.
Giving the Stars credit for a hard-fought series, Spiders players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned New Federal Baseball League champions.
"We felt like this was our year all season long," said second baseman Caleb Hinton, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did."
It was the 5th in franchise history. During the Division 1 regular season Cleveland put up a 95-67 record and finished first.
"They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Hollywood manager Drees van Straaten. "We played good ball, they just played better than us."
