Beaneaters Clip Spiders, 2-1
|
Boston right-hander Motoshige Kato made an effective start against the Cleveland Spiders at Sockalexis Stadium, leading his team to a 2-1 win. The Beaneaters have an impressive 43-27 record.
Jake Dunn, who is tied for 8th in the GL in stolen bases with 9, helped out the Boston cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the right fielder went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Dunn told the Boston Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
