Beaneaters Subdue Philadelphia, 5-3
|
Fans who gathered at Myers Field saw a good contest between the Boston Beaneaters and Philadelphia Quakers.
Boston starter Bill Parsons pitched effectively against the Philadelphia Quakers at Myers Field. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Will White got the save, his 28th in 30 chances.
Miguel Concepción, who is tied for 8th in the GL in stolen bases with 15, aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Parsons said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
Philadelphia now has a 5-game losing streak.
