Miami beat Boston at South End Grounds, escaping with a 11-10 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Leo Hicks, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4 for 4 with 4 doubles and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to Harold Borghini in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Will White took the loss. The losing streak for Boston has now reached 4 games.

The X Giants got a big at-bat from second baseman Clinton Smith. For the game, Smith slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Miami a 11-10 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Hicks said after the game.
