| Quakers Throttle Beaneaters, 8-1 | The Philadelphia Quakers beat the Boston Beaneaters, 8-1, at South End Grounds. The Quakers got a fine performance from shortstop Carlos Hernández, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia, had it not been for Fernando Rosado, the 25-year old center fielder . Rosado contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Hernández said. "We did a good job of that today."
